The Veawe UC-ISO-USB-24V is an industrial-grade Isolated USB Repeater and Isolator engineered to provide true galvanic barrier protection between sensitive host computers (PCs, industrial PCs, PLCs) and field-installed USB peripherals. In demanding industrial environments, ground potential differences, motor noise, switching transients, and static discharge can destroy PC USB controllers or disrupt critical data acquisition. The UC-ISO-USB-24V eliminates these hazards by providing 5,000 V RMS galvanic isolation and a continuous working voltage isolation barrier of 1,500 Vrms.
Dual-Domain Isolated Power Architecture
Standard bus-powered USB isolators often draw all power from the PC host port, severely limiting downstream device current and leaving the host USB port vulnerable to high current draw. The UC-ISO-USB-24V solves this with a dedicated dual-power design:
– Host Side (Upstream): Bus-powered directly from the PC USB Type-C port, consuming negligible power and preserving complete isolation.
– Device Side (Downstream): Powered by an external 12–28V DC industrial power supply (nominal 24V DC) through a 3-pin pluggable screw terminal block. An integrated high-efficiency DC-DC step-down regulator supplies a clean, regulated 5V DC @ 500mA to connected USB peripherals—ideal for power-hungry sensors, bar code scanners, DAQ systems, and serial converters.
Industrial Noise & Surge Immunity
Both upstream and downstream USB lines, as well as the 24V power input, are fortified with comprehensive multi-stage industrial protection:
– TVS Transient Suppression: Up to 600W peak pulse power clamping against electrical fast transients (EFT).
– ESD Immunity: Tested to IEC 61000-4-2 Level 4, withstanding ±15 kV Air and Human-Body Model (HBM) discharges.
– Surge / Lightning Protection: Tested to IEC 61000-4-5 (12A, 8/20 µs impulse waveform).
