8 Output Modbus Module

The 8 Output Modbus Module provides a practical solution for controlling digital field devices through a Modbus RTU network. The Veawe UIO-8DO is a compact Modbus RTU remote I/O module with eight digital NPN outputs. It connects industrial loads to PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, and other Modbus-based automation controllers through an RS-485 interface.

The module provides eight independent digital outputs. A Modbus master can control each output through dedicated Modbus coil addresses. The module also reports the output status through the same coil addresses. This makes it easy to control and monitor field devices from a central automation system. DO1 to DO8 use coils 00001 to 00008 for output control and status.

Configurable ON and OFF Delay

The 8 Output Modbus Module provides configurable ON delay and OFF delay for every output. Users can configure the delay independently for DO1 through DO8. The module supports a delay resolution of 10 milliseconds, with a maximum configurable delay of 655.35 seconds. This feature helps control equipment that requires timed switching or controlled output sequencing.

The module also provides pending output status while a delay timer is active. The pending-state coils allow the control system to identify outputs waiting for their configured delay to expire. Users can also force a pending output to the ON state when required.

Modbus RTU over RS-485

The 8 Output Modbus Module communicates using Modbus RTU over RS-485. It supports baud rates from 300 to 115200. Users can select different serial formats to match existing Modbus networks. The default communication setting is 19200 baud with 8N1 serial format. A rotary address switch provides device address selection from 1 to 99.

Industrial Digital Output Applications

Each digital output supports up to 24V DC and 500mA maximum with NPN control. This allows the module to control suitable industrial loads such as relays and other 24V DC devices. The connector arrangement provides dedicated terminals for Y1 through Y8.

The module suits applications that require multiple discrete outputs from a PLC, SCADA system, HMI, or industrial controller. Its eight independently controlled outputs make it useful for machine automation, control panels, sequencing applications, and distributed I/O systems.

Compact DIN Rail Remote I/O

The module operates from a 15–24V DC supply and provides LED indications for power, RS-485 transmit activity, RS-485 receive activity, and individual digital output status. Its DIN rail mounting and compact 110mm × 50mm × 55mm enclosure make it suitable for industrial control panels and machine automation systems.

The 8 Output Modbus Module combines eight digital NPN outputs, Modbus RTU communication, configurable output delays, and compact DIN rail installation in one remote I/O solution. It provides a straightforward interface between a Modbus control system and eight discrete industrial outputs.
