The Veawe MIO-1LD Loadcell to Modbus Transmitter I/O Module provides a compact solution for industrial weighing and force measurement applications. This Loadcell Modbus RTU Module connects a loadcell or strain gauge sensor directly to a Modbus RTU network. It uses RS-485 communication to connect easily with PLCs, SCADA systems, HMIs, and other industrial controllers.
The Loadcell to Modbus Transmitter supports two operating modes: Scale Mode and Force Mode. Scale Mode provides slow and accurate weight measurement for applications such as platform scales, check weighing, and tank weighing. Force Mode provides high-speed force measurement with peak force detection for applications such as press monitoring and tension testing.
The module uses a 20-bit high-resolution ADC with an industrial-grade analog front end. This combination provides a precise interface for low-level loadcell signals. The module provides loadcell values in 16-bit integer, 32-bit integer, and IEEE754 floating-point formats. It also converts raw ADC counts into engineering values such as g, kg, ton, N, kN, kgf, tonf, lbf, and oz.
Scale Mode provides configurable filtering and stability detection. The module sets the Stable Flag when the measured value remains within the configured Stable Window for the configured Stable Time. This feature makes the MIO-1LD suitable for weighing and check-weighing applications.
Force Mode detects a configured force threshold and captures the corresponding peak value. The module also records peak time, time above threshold, production count, and peak capture status. These functions help monitor press force, perform tension testing, and measure short-duration peak forces accurately.
Engineers can configure the module using Veawe ModViz, a Modbus configuration and visualization tool. The MIO-1LD also provides configurable Modbus communication parameters, DIN rail mounting support, and baud rates from 300 to 115200.
